May 29: Memorial Day

Is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces.

May 27: Ramadan Start

People of Islamic faith are encouraged to read the entire Qur'an during Ramadan. Some Muslims recite the entire Qur'an by the end of Ramadan through special prayers known as Tarawih, which are held in mosques every night of the month, during which a section of the Qur'an is recited.

May 4: National Day Of Prayer

It's an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the United States Congress, when people are asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation.

April 27: Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

This annual event is an educational program in the United States and Canada where parents take their children to work with them for one day.  It is the successor to Take Our Daughters to Work Day which, in 2003, was expanded to include boys. Most companies allowed both girls and boys to participate since the beginning, renaming the day “Take Our Children to Work Day.”

April 16: Easter Sunday

It celebrates the Jesus Christ's resurrection after his crucifixion. Many people also decorate eggs. These can be hard boiled eggs that can be eaten later, but may also be model eggs made of plastic, chocolate, candy or other materials. It is also common to organize Easter egg hunts. Eggs of some form are hidden, supposedly by a rabbit or hare. People, especially children, then search for them. In some areas, Easter egg hunts are a popular way for local businesses to promote themselves or may even be organized by churches.

April 6: National Tartan Day

National Tartan Day parades occur in major cities such as New York on or around April 6. These parades often feature bag-pipe bands playing Scottish music and people dressed in kilts with tartan patterns that represent their Scottish clans.

March 7: Town Meeting Day

Town Meeting Day marks a special event in which residents meet in about 40 towns across Vermont, in the United States. They discuss the business of their town and any issue is open to debate.

March 3: Employee Apreciation Day

It is a day for companies to thank their employees for their hard work and effort throughout the year. This day was created for the purpose of strengthening the bond between employer and employee.

March 2: Read Across America Day

Read Across America Day promotes reading, particularly for children and young adults.  Many schools, libraries, and community centers across the United States participate in the day by bringing people together to take part in reading books.
